Document Checklist

Travel documents checklist
  • Original Passport: Must not be older than 10 years and should be valid for at least six months. Old passports are also required. Your passport must have at least three blank pages for visa stamping.
  • Visa Forms: Form 1419 (Tourist), Family Composition Form 54, and Form 956 duly signed by the applicant. For minors, parents must sign the visa forms.
  • Covering Letter: A personal covering letter mentioning your name, passport number, purpose, and duration of the visit. It should be addressed to The Visa Officer, Australian High Commission, New Delhi. (Sample letter attached – please edit as per your details.)
  • Personal Income Tax Returns: Last three years.
  • PAN Card and Aadhaar Card Copies
  • Bank Statement (Personal): Latest six months’ bank statement in original, with a minimum balance of Rs. 4–5 lakhs per person, duly stamped and signed by the bank on each page.
  • If Self-Employed:
  • Covering letter on your business letterhead.
  • Business proof and financial documents such as:
  • 6 months' bank statement (business)
  • 3 years’ income tax returns
  • Company registration documents
  • If Employed:
  • Leave letter from your employer (sample attached)
  • Last 6 months' salary slips
  • Income Tax Returns / Form 16
  • If Student: School id and Birth Crt copy
  • Other Financial Documents:
  • Fixed deposits, NSC, shares, mutual fund statements, etc.
  • Assets Proof:
  • Property papers, society letter, maintenance invoice (photocopies)
  • If Age Above 75 Years:
  • Medical examination from an empanelled doctor may be required after receiving instructions from the Embassy.
  • If Staying More Than 3 Months:
  • Chest X-ray and medical certificate are required.
  • If Visiting Relatives in Australia:
  • Invitation letter (sample attached) along with:
  • Copy of inviter’s passport (first and last page)
  • Visa copy or immigration status in Australia
  • Relationship proof
  • Utility bill as address proof
  • Inviter’s financial documents
  • If Australia Visa Was Issued Previously:
  • Please provide copies of previous Australian visas.
