Cherrapunji is a popular tourist destination of India and is visited by tourists throughout the year. The weather conditions of the town remain pleasant and comfortable for most part of the year. Cherrapunji receives heavy rainfall throughout the year. So, the best time to visit Cherrapunji is between the months of October and May, when the weather remains cool and pleasant.

Day 01

On arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station & transfer to Shillong (4,900 ft.), called ‘Scotland of the East”. Enroute visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival at Shillong, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 02

After breakfast visit Don Bosco Museum, Ward’s Lake, Botanical Garden and Lady Hydari Park. Evening is free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Shillong.

SHILLONG – DAWKI – MAWLYNNONG – SHILLONG (100 KMs / 4 hrs-One way)

DAY 03

After breakfast excursion to Dawki (Bangladesh border) and then to Mawlynnong the cleanest village in Asia. Later return back to Shillong. Evening visit Local markets. Overnight in Shillong.

Shillong – Cherrapunjee (60 kms / 4 hrs.)

Day 04

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world. On the way enjoy Mawkdok Valley, Nohkalikai falls, Dainthelen Falls and Ramkrishna Mission (drive pass). On arrival at Cherrapunjee, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.

Day 05

After breakfast we get ready for a half day trek to visit the Double Decker Living Root Bridge deep inside the jungle. It will take 3 to 4 hrs (depending on the physical fitness of the person). Afternoon visit Nohsngithiang Falls (also known as the Seven Sisters Waterfalls or Mawsmai Falls), Mawsmai Cave, Koh Ram Hah and Ecopark. Evening back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.

Cherrapunjee – Guwahati (160 kms / 6 hrs.)

Day 06

After breakfast drive to Guwahati, enroute visit Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Arrive and check in at hotel. In the evening visit ‘Kalakshetra’, a place where Assamese history and culture is presented through Light and sound show. Return to hotel. Overnight stay at Guwahati.

After breakfast check out from hotel & transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
